Fostering Young Children
Fostering Young Children
Looked-After-Children come from all different backgrounds and we try very hard to match them with foster carers who reflect their identities, which is why we need foster carers of all kinds of backgrounds and beliefs.
Whether you provide short-term, long-term or respite care, your support and guidance will have a positive impact on the rest of a young person’s life.
Fostering a young child or baby can be a unique and wonderful experience.
You could provide the joy of new experiences to a child, a child who may never done even the simplest of things, such as going to the beach.
It is the heart-breaking reality that our Looked-After-Children come from backgrounds of addiction, abuse and neglect. Therefore, they sometimes present behaviour which can be challenging.
However, you will receive free professional training and around the clock support from our amazing Social Workers, so you will never have to face anything alone.
With your care and guidance, these children will receive a second chance in life.

I grew up in Newcastle and my family still live there, so my links with the North East are still strong.
I moved to London as a teenager and met my husband there, we lived happily in London, our four children were born and grew up in London, they are now adults. We recently welcomed our first grandchild. As a family we moved to the countryside in 2010 and have comfortably adapted to rural life.
I have worked in a fostering environment for eighteen years. For thirteen years I managed a contact service for "looked after children" most of whom lived in the foster homes of the agency I worked for. This involved liaising with birth parents, family members, foster carers and social workers, to ensure that contact was a positive experience for the children.
Five years ago the agency I worked for became part of Futures Group and I've continued to work with them in fostering.
Please feel free to call me at a time to suit you. I'm always pleased to talk about fostering, it's challenges and rewards. I look forward to hearing from you.
