Job Title: Fostering Panel Chair

 

Vacancy:

Panel Chair: Fostering Service.

 

Location:

Home based.

 

Salary:

Competitive fee for attendance at training, meetings and preparation time.

 

Panel:

There are three companies within the Futures Group. Futures for Children, Fostering Options and Foster Care Solutions. The Panel is joint and services all companies. The Panels are held virtually on the third Tuesday of each month and generally run from 10.00am until 3pm.

Job Specifics:

The Panel Chair will be;

Expected to lead all panel meetings ensuring that all items of business are covered.

Ensuring the panel operates in accordance with Fostering Regulations and the policies and processes of the agency.

Required to complete training.

Expected to read all related paperwork sent prior to the panel meeting to ensure being fully prepared to contribute and manage the discussion.

Involved in the recruitment of panel members.

Completing an annual appraisal of all panel members

Required to write an annual report pertaining to the past year.

 

Person Specifics: 

The successful applicant will have:

Experience with working with fostering or similar, either professionally or personally.

Ideally but not essential, previous experience as a Panel Chair or Vice Chair

Good references endorsing their ability to undertake this work.

Commitment to Safeguarding, confidentiality high ethical standards.

Good communication skills to ensure effective management of panel discussions.

The ability to facilitate the active participation of all panel members.

Skills to make decisions based on written and oral information presented.

The ability to work within given timescales.
